Indy hits box office jackpot

'Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull' has taken $311.1 million (€198 million) worldwide on its' opening weekend.
According to Reuters, the film, which cost $186 million to make, took $151.1 (€95) million in the US and Canada, and $24 (€15) million in Britain. 
In France, where ticket sales were boosted by hype surrounding the film's Cannes opening, it collected an impressive $14 (€9) million.
Rob Moore, president of worldwide marketing distribution and operations at Paramount, told Reuters that the totals were: "driven by people in their 30s and 40s, and that audience was excited to see the movie and bring their kids with them."
The opening weekend total easily surpasses director Steven Spielberg's previous record of $202 (€128) million for 2005's 'War of the Worlds'.

Funeral For A Friend have a double a-side single coming this July, which will be released as both a limited edition 7" and free download.

Both songs - 'Waterfront Dance Club' and 'Beneath The Burning Tree' - are completely new and didn't appear on the band's last gold-selling album 'Tales Don't Tell Themselves'.

To celebrate the release, the Welsh rockers have even started their own record label titled Join Us Records, which was funded by Ingenious Music and built on Integral's (a division of PIAS) infrastructure.

"We were fortunate to be on a major label for the past five years," says bassist Gareth Davies, "Now we are in a great position to take the time investment that they have already put into us, and walk away, and start afresh, with a clean slate and with the fanbase already in place. This is a great stepping stone for us."

'Waterfront Dance Club' / 'Beneath The Burning Tree' is released on July 14th, two weeks before Funeral For A Friend embark on their Summer tour - including both festivals and headline shows. The band play:

SIR CLIFF RICHARD dominated his classmates on the sports field as a young boy - he was his school's most aggressive rugby player.

The British crooner, 67, is now well-known for his mild-mannered stage persona, but as a youngster he was a feisty athlete - scaring his schoolmates with his dominating style of play.

In a new book, Cliff Richard: The Bachelor Boy, former pupil Pete Bush recalls, "He was an absolute madman on the rugby pitch. He would go for you and his whole intention was to get you.

"He was terribly aggressive. He would go in hard. No one wanted to get tackled by Harry Webb, as we knew him in those days. He didn't mind getting dirty."

Brian Cooke, another student at Cheshunt School in England, adds, "He was pretty good at football and rugby. Also, a lot of people don't realise that he was undoubtedly the best scrapper in the school. You didn't play around with him. You wouldn't have gone around picking on him."
